Bumpers.
Poetic Borderline ($15)With a sleek black frame the Poetic Borderline is ideal for someone with a minimalistic taste. This bumper will not impede on the slenderness of the device, but it will add some needed edge protection as well as a raised edge to give it a lay-on-the-table design. Made from a combination of TPU matte gray edges and glossy black polycarbonate, the Borderline fortifies the barriers of your smartphone, while still having style.
The bumper fits nicely on the iPhone 6, and the black/grey color looks great on all iPhone colors, however there is also a white/grey if that is more your style. Being a bumper, only covering the edges, protection is limited. This bumper does offer a decent amount of protection in the event of a drop, but, with an exposed back, this bumper doesn't offer much protection at all to scratches. However, this problem can be solved by purchasing a back protector (just a screen protector for the back of your phone). Things I liked about this bumper is that it seems to be designed well. All the cutouts are in the precise locations for the speaker, Lightning port, and headphone jack. I do have to say, however, that bulkier headphone cables or AUX cords might be a problem for the Borderline. Another thing I seemed to like about the Borderline is that it adds a bit of "substance" to the phone, making it a bit easier to hold on to. Being made of TPU the bumper has a nice grip. Along with looking great, the Borderline also solves the protruding lens problem on the iPhone 6 by lifting the rear of the iPhone up enough to eliminate the wobble. The only real problem I have with this bumper, which I mentioned above, is that the port cutouts are so precise that you may run into compatibility difficulty when trying to plug in a 3rd party (such as AmazonBasics) Lightning cable or headphones. My final thoughts on this bumper is that, although there isn't a lot of protection the design of the bumper protects the main impact points on the phone. This is good for someone who is careful with their phone but maybe not so good for people who are a little more clumsy. I also appreciate the raised lip for screen protection from surface scratches, and that the bumper fixes the protruding lens iPhone 6 issue. All in all, I really enjoy the Borderline and recommend it to someone who wants to show off their iPhone in a minimalistic way, while still adding protection. You can buy the Poetic Borderline here.
