Kavaj "Miami" Case ($25)The KAVAJ Leather case cover "Miami" for the iPhone 6 is made from genuine leather with business card compartments giving this case cover a classy look. With its modern design in cognac-brown the KAVAJ Miami is more like a high-end wallet than a phone case. The inside of this case has a soft flannel interior that guards against scratches, dust, and stain.
The KAVAJ "Miami" has a different design than other conventional wallet iPhone cases. Instead of a more note-book design where a flap covers over the screen of the phone, the Miami is more of a pouch. With the pouch design, the phone seems to be very secure and safe. The iPhone 6 fits very snug in the case so if you were to hold it upside down or shake the case, your phone would not fall out. To further ensure that your phone doesn't fall out there is a reliable magnetic closure that unites a secure hold and easy access. After using the Miami for a while I actually really enjoyed it. The way you take your phone in and out of the pouch is actually pretty unique. The magnetic closure doubles as a lever of sorts that, when pulled, lifts your phone out from inside the case. This is what sets the Miami away from other wallet cases. I only encountered one flaw in this case that really upset me. Since the Miami is so form fitting to the iPhone you can't use the cover with other cases. This doesn't bother me so much, however, the case is tight enough that even with a screen protector there could be problems. And the problem that I encountered was when i put my phone into the Miami and upon taking it out, the whole bottom of my screen protector was scrunched up. All this being said, my final thoughts on this case is that its great. Although I had one bad experience with my screen protector coming off, the Miami is protective enough that I don't need a screen protector. The convenience of having your phone and wallet all in one makes life so much easier. In combination with the innovative magnetic clasp design, this is by far one of my favorite iPhone case covers. Elago Outfit Matrix ($26)The elago S6 Outfit Matrix case is a unique blend of hard Polycarbonate and solid aluminum which not only protects your iPhone, but makes a fashion statement. There are various color combinations available, you can mix and match your iPhone with your wardrobe, personality, or even your favorite sports teams!
This case is very stylish, after a week or so using it I got a number of compliments on how nice of a case it was. It clings snugly to the phone and just feels right. With a dual design of hard polycarbonate and solid aluminum, this case gives your iPhone a modern look that complements your iPhone's style brilliantly. There is a price to pay for being so stylish, however and that is at the cost of protection. The case covers the right and left side of the case, leaving the top and bottom exposed. The case does cover the corners though, which offers a small amount of protection if dropped. Personally I liked having the bottom of the case, with all ports being exposed, because I had no issue plugging into the head phone port and lightning cable port with my non-apple cables. Protection set aside, this case is ideal for any minimalist. The case is very thin and barely adds any bulk. I liked the lay-on-the-table design it had with a front lip that prevents your screen from scratches if placed faced down. The only flaw I found with this case was that it is very difficult to take off. The first time I took it off I had to use a lot of force and clicked it out. I was very paranoid that I had scratched my phone by doing this, but after inspecting it, there was nothing wrong. My final thoughts on this case is that it is elegant. I think this case is more for someone who is careful with their phone. I feel it's main purpose is to serve as a great case to help prevent scratches on the body/screen and preserve the value of the phone as a whole. But if you are accident prone I recommend getting a more protective case. All that aside, this case is stylish and great. Confirms to the shape of the phone and maintains the same slim feel. Elago is great! With reinforced corners and a slightly thicker body than Diztronics traditional TPU Cases, the Voyeur offers increased protection for your iPhone and better looks at the same time.
I really enjoyed this case after using it for a week. It's simple like Diztronics traditional TPU case, but the enforced corners offer an added support. Like I said in my Diztronic TPU case review, this Voyeur comes in two colors, black and grey. One thing I enjoyed about this case was the polycarbonate window that lets the apple logo show through. I liked this feature because most of the time you're not only buying an iPhone for its great features, but also the brand. Something to note about this though was that at first I thought It was a little cheap looking because the window was scratched and just didn't look right. But that was not the case at all! I noticed that there was a small piece of plastic on the window was comes up, similar to the plastic on any new electronic. After peeling this back, the window was nice and clear. Later on I was looking on the Diztronic website it says, "Important Tip: Please remember to remove the film on the Voyeur window. If you have a bubble, a film is still on the window. There is one on the inside and on the outside." My final thought on this case is that, yes, it might be a little bulkier than the Diztronic TPU case, but offering a decent amount of protection its worth it. Being more of a protective case, its actually impressive how thin it is compared to other name brands. You can buy these Diztronic TPU cases on Amazon here. Or on the Diztronic website here. diztronic TPU Case ($10)This custom fit TPU Case by Diztronic is great for protecting your iPhone 6. Flexible, yet stronger and more durable than silicone, this TPU case offers excellent shock absorption and abrasion resistance while maintaining a thin form factor. The raised wrap-around edges make for a "lay-on-the-table" design that helps protect the glass screen from damage. This case is easy to install and remove, and definitely affordable at only $10.
After using this case for a while I began to completely forget that I even had it on. I used the black matte case for a few days and to be honest it was nothing fancy, but that is fine because an iPhone case doesn't need to be! This thin case feels as if it was custom molded to the iPhone, it fits so well. The matte black and blue cases have a nice feel to them. Being matte they don't show fingerprint, making these cases always look and feel clean. On the other hand, the glossy mint turquoise case surprised me. Being a glossy case I thought it would be full of fingerprints. However, the bright color makes these fingerprints seem invisible, you can't notice them unless you really look. I also liked how much more grip the glossy case offered compared to the matte cases. Being very minimalistic, this case still offers a fair amount of protection. While using this case I actually did drop my phone from about waist height twice and my phone survived without a scratch. The TPU material that the case is made of is actually very shock absorbent. Another protection perk of this case is its 1.50mm front lip to give it a "lay-on-the-table" design. It made me feel comfortable to put my phone face down on a table and not worry weather or not my screen would get scratched. My final thoughts on the cases are that they are simplistic and great. They have a clean look to them and have a minimalistic design, great for someone who wants to protect their phone without giving up the thin feel of the iPhone 6. Diztronic sells three matte cases in black, charcoal grey, and blue. They also have a glossy model in a mint turquoises, for those looking for a bolder look. Only being $10, I would actually recommend buying a few different colors so you can switch it up every now and then. You can buy these Diztronic TPU cases on Amazon here. Or on the Diztronic website here. Insignia soft shell case ($15)The Insignia soft shell case has a matte finish, offering a stylish look that truly compliments the iPhone 6. It is a TPU case that is durable and provides protection against damage during everyday use.
After using this case for a while it seems that this case is quality and serves its purpose. Being a TPU case you don't expect it to protect your phone too much, say after dropping it down a flight of stairs, however that's not what TPU cases are meant for. This case is great for protecting your phone from scratches, which is what it was made to do. Although lacking protection, this case does complement the iPhone 6 nicely. Not adding much thickness at all, your phone still fits in your pocket comfortably. Along with being quite thin, and having a nice matte finish, other design features worth mentioning are that the volume and on/off button are covered, while the silent switch and all ports are open on the bottom. This makes it easy to turn on and off the silent switch. The only issue I had with this case was the headphone jack. This issue became apparent when using the AUX cord in my car. I noticed that the sound was muffled and it was due to the AUX cord not being plugged in all the way. To fix this I had to partly take off the bottom of the case to expose the headphone jack fully. Even though the headphone jack seemed to be a problem, the lightning port is easily accessible. My final thought on the case is that it is nothing special, however it gets the job done of protecting your phone from everyday use while not giving up the feel and slimness of the iPhone itself. On the other hand, for the price of $15, I think there are cheaper options for the same quality. You can buy the Insignia Soft Shell case here. |
